What
are Enhanced Health Services? Enhanced Health
Services help to promote placement in the least restrictive residential
setting possible. Services may include: assessment and evaluation
of health care needs; dietary services; behavioral services; nursing
services; treatment and monitoring; and professional therapies
such as occupational, physical, and speech and language. Enhanced
Health Services may be provided only after all other insurance
benefits are exhausted. Enhanced Health Services are generally
provided within the home, community or vocational setting. They
vary based on individual needs. Who
can benefit from Enhanced Health Services? Anyone who
is developmentally disabled may be eligible for Enhanced Health
Services. People who have the most severe need, especially those
in emergency situations, receive priority in provision of services.
How
do Enhanced Health Services help an individual?
Services are
provided by specially trained healthcare professionals who help
people with developmental disabilities. A Supports Coordinator
helps to coordinate services with the individual's qualified health
plan. A person-centered planning approach is used to help identify
each individual's strengths, dreams, goals, and desire, as well
as their health and safety needs. The healthcare professionals
may also help to access the most appropriate services, or refer
an individual as necessary. How
can you access Enhanced Health Services? You may call
(989) 895-2300 or 1-800 327-4693 for additional
information about this program. To request a service or make a
referral, call the Access Alliance of Michigan (a division of
Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health) at
1-800-448-5498.
