are Emergency Services?
Emergency Services
(ES) provides crisis intervention and a "listening ear" for the
community. Emergency Services also provides pre-admission screening
for inpatient services. ES Workers are available by phone or in
person 24 hours a day, seven days per week.
Who
can benefit from Emergency Services?
Any person in
Bay and Arenac Counties who is experiencing a mental health crisis
or emergency can request these services. This includes individuals
seeking admission to inpatient care, crisis residential services
or partial hospitalization. Family members and significant others
can call on behalf of a consumer they believe may be at risk of
harming themselves or others.
How
do Emergency Services help an individual?
Emergency Services
Workers are trained to assess mental health status. They can determine
the most appropriate level of care for an individual in need. Crisis
intervention services can also help consumers cope with daily living
problems by reducing stress and anxiety.
