What
is the Arenac Center?
The Arenac
Center is a Standish-based mental health facility that provides
mental health services for residents of Arenac and northern
Bay County. Services include individual and family therapy,
group therapy, psychiatric services, psychological testing,
crisis intervention, home-based services, and case management
for Developmentally Disabled and mentally ill populations.
Who
can benefit from the Arenac Center?
Anyone
who is a resident of Arenac or Bay County and can be diagnosed
with a mental illness or developmental disability may benefit
from services at the Arenac Center.
How
can the Arenac Center help an individual?
The Arenac
Center can provide an array of services that are similar to
the Bay City office, but are closer in proximity for some.
A psychiatrist provides services five times per month. There
is a full time nurse to meet psychiatric need in the interim.
There are two psychologists, one counselor, on master-level
social worker, and three case managers. Individual, family
and group therapy is provided, as well as home based services.
Re-stabilization to the community after hospitalization is
provided. Short-term conflict resolution and problem solving
is offered by the counseling staff. Treatment for sexual abuse,
depression, and other difficulties is addressed using a person-centered
planning approach. Referrals are made as necessary.
