What is Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health (BABH)?
Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health is the community mental health agency for Bay and Arenac counties, providing an array of community behavioral health and substance use disorder programs and services. BABH is also a governmental Michigan Community Mental Health Authority that manages contracts for providers of public mental health and substance use disorder services for community mental health agencies in Arenac, Bay, Huron, Montcalm, Shiawassee and Tuscola counties.
BABH is a community mental health provider, a prepaid health plan for Medicaid for people with mental health and developmental disabilities, and a coordinating agency for substance use disorder providers for those six counties in mid-Michigan.
Who We Serve
We are mandated by law to serve certain sectors in providing behavioral health services and supports to people with:
• developmental disabilities
• serious and persistent mental illness
• children with serious emotional disturbance, and
• substance use disorder needs
Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health provides services to people who are Medicaid qualified, have low incomes and are without insurance. Services are provided without regard to race, color, nationality, religion, political beliefs, gender, age, health status, disability, or ability to pay as defined in Michigan's state law or regulations.
Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health also provides Emergency Services to anyone in the community, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you are having a personal crisis or psychiatric emergency call: 1-800-327-4693.

Bay-Arenac Behavioral Health clinics are located in Bay City at 201 Mulholland and 1010 N. Madison and at 1000 W. Cedar in Standish.
The BABH Board administrative office is located at 201 Mulholland in Bay City.
